A Small Jamaican Parcel-gilt Tripod Table

An exotic table with a truly wonderful octagonal top displaying a tremendous depth of colour – broadly banded in Ebony, its concentric rings veneered in Palm on Sabicu.

It has a tipping-top (retaining its original catch) which rests on a beautifully faded Rosewood parcel-gilt base, the table originating in Jamaica where there existed a substantial furniture making trade from the early 19th century.
