A superb agate tobacco jar with rustic decoration its body applied with vines, its cover with vine leaves and grapes, appliqué which has a ‘Trojan’ feel to it.
It is a pot which has incredibly beautiful variegated figuring to its interior. To its exterior it has an unglazed applied shield with the name W,Sayers impressed in letterpress Type which is in-filled with white slip. Beneath this there is a partially erased date which is possibly 1905.
