Verigated Jug & Basin

This lead glazed jug and basin is made from verigated clays. The surface has flecks typical of much Sussex Pottery, formed naturally by iron oxide in the clay. These verigated wares were also made at Burgess Hill and Chailey. The jug bares an interesting firing aberration.
